3. Our mission is to bring to our client’s attention the financial exposures they have in regard to the four insurance perils: property insurance, lawsuit exposure, medical insurance and loss of income
4. We find that most people are over insured where coverage is least needed and under insured where coverage is most needed.
5. We diagnose their exposure to the four financial perils and then help them obtain suitable coverage
6. This is accomplished by conducting a personal meeting with our clients and prospects.

Richard Votaw’s Insurance Agency was established in 1985 at North Lake Tahoe by Richard Votaw. We are a multi-line insurance agency located in North Lake Tahoe. Our purpose is to provide the highest level of guidance and protection found in the insurance industry. We strive daily to provide the highest level of service while protecting families against the financial perils of one of life’s worst case scenarios (i.e. loss of home, loss of income or protection against a financially debilitating lawsuit).

We bring a clear cut philosophy to purchasing all of your insurance coverages. With our expertise we help you develop an insurance buying strategy for a lifetime, ensuring that you will not be over insured or under insured. This is accomplished by meeting with you annually or bi-annually to review all of your coverages. Throughout our experience, we routinely find that most people are over insured in the areas they need coverage the least and under insured in areas they need coverage the most.

Richard Votaw founded the agency in 1985. Richard Votaw Insurance agency is a nationally recognized Farmers Insurance Agency. Richard Votaw is also a nationally recognized, top 100 Anthem Blue Cross agent. Richard Votaw is the licensed agency owner and chief producer. Rich is a licensed CA & NV broker agent.

Susan Votaw joined the agency in 1991 as agency operations manager. Susan now heads the HR and accounting operations of the agency. Susan is a licensed CA & NV broker agent

Simon Votaw joined the agency full time in 2022. Since then Simon has continued to be a major contributor to the national recognition of the agency.

Tomika Clark joined the agency in 2006, and is now the operations manager. Tomika’s efforts in management have been a major contributor to the continual growth of the agency. Tomika is a licensed CA & NV broker agent.

Kelli Clark is the newest member, joining in 2023. Kelli is already invaluable in customer service and brings decades of insurance experience with her. Kelli is a licensed CA & NV broker agent
